Tiffin Boys’ Choir is an internationally renowned boys’ choir from Kingston, London.

Director, James Day

James Day has established a reputation as a highly regarded conductor and artistic director, widely recognized for creating exciting and extremely successful artistic and educational projects. Driven by a passion for bringing classical music to all, James ensures that future generations from all backgrounds have access to life-changing musical opportunities and experiences. In addition to his work with the Tiffin Choirs, he serves as the Chief Executive of the Pimlico Musical Foundation, a local charity providing quality musical education to its underserved community, and as the Artistic Director of the Barnes Music Festival. In 2023, he was awarded an LRAM from the Royal Academy of Music.

Associate conductor, Tristan Waymes

Tristan graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with Distinction from its prestigious Choral Conducting MA course in 2024, attaining a DipRAM and Regency Award for final performance and all-round studentship during his time there. He conducts the University College London Chamber Choir whilst being Director of Music at St Mary the Virgin, Merton Park, and works with the London Youth Choirs. Chorus Master for the LYC/Bach Choir War Requiem (Westminster Cathedral, 2024), and LSSO’s The Planets (Barbican, 2025), he is a skilled pedagogue with young voices. He has performed as a soloist in venues across London, including for Mozart Requiem at St John’s, Smith Square with the Southbank Sinfonia.

Singing Teacher, Lisa Beckley

Lisa began her musical career as a choral bursar in the choir of Keble College, Oxford, while studying Chemistry.

She has worked with many of Britain’s leading specialist ensembles, including The Sixteen, The King’s Consort, The English Concert, The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, The Oxford Camerata, The Cardinall’s Musick, The Tallis Scholars, The Academy of Ancient Music, and Britten Sinfonia. She has an extensive discography as part of these groups, most notably appearing as the soloist on the best-selling Naxos recording of Faure’s Requiem (her Pie Jesu was featured in the Hollywood film ‘Broken Flowers’).

She regularly sings with the Special Service choirs at Westminster Abbey and St Paul’s Cathedral.

She now enjoys a busy teaching schedule and in addition to Tiffin School, she also holds positions at Henrietta Barnett School and St Paul’s Girls’ School.

Both her son and daughter attended Tiffin School.

Singing Teacher, James Oldfield

James has taught singing at Tiffin since 2014. He also teaches choral scholars at the University of Cambridge (Trinity, Jesus and Emmanuel colleges) as well as for the National Youth Choir, Gabrieli Roar, and Rodolfus courses. James was a choral scholar at Trinity College, Cambridge, followed by postgraduate studies in voice and opera at the RCM. James features on numerous recordings with Monteverdi Choir and Polyphony, and his opera performances include leading roles with Royal Opera House, ENO, and Opera North. On the concert platform, James has been bass soloist with the LSO, RPO, RLPO, the Philharmonia, and the Hallé.
